2010 Robert O'Shea Engineering Ethics Award Announced

2010 Robert O’Shea Engineering Ethics Award for Ohio ASCE Student Chapter and Younger Members

Don Pawlowski is the winner of the 2010 Robert O’Shea Engineering Ethics Award for Ohio American Society of Civil Engineers Student Chapter and Younger Members for his paper “Ethics and the Civil Engineer of 2025”.

The Ohio Council of ASCE presents this annual award to the author of the paper on engineering ethics judged to be the best of all papers submitted that meet the criteria for the award. The award consists of a certificate and check in the amount of $250.00 to be given to the author, and an additional check in the amount of $250.00 to be given to the author’s organization. Mr. Pawlowski is a Younger Member of the Cleveland Section. He received his degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in construction from the Fenn College of Engineering at Cleveland State University in May, 2009. Amongst his many activities at Cleveland State, Don was the Vice President of the ASCE Student Chapter, President of Tau Beta Pi, and a Co-founder of the new Engineers Without Borders chapter. Don is currently a structural engineer at TranSystems where he works on the bridge design and inspection teams.

As a result of his selection as the 2010 winner, the Younger Members group of the Cleveland Section will be receiving a check for $250.00.
